CHORD SHAPES
Welcome to Throwback Thursday’s where I teach you a classic hit from the last 4-5 decades! This week we have one of my favourite bands of all time – Coldplay. This lesson has been requested so many times, sorry it’s taken so long but i wanted to make sure it was the perfect lesson so here it is – Yellow guitar tutorial!
This Yellow guitar tutorial is really great as it introduces a cool alternative tuning configuration that Chris Martin uses that sounds amazing. For beginners who want use basic chords and standard tuning, don’t worry I got you covered!
Because the strumming pattern is so simple this is a great song for beginners to learn who want to sing and play guitar at the same time. Chris Martin is an absolute genius and I can’t get enough of his songwriting. For #yellow I’ve given you two different options for learning this #coldplay song.
Version 1 – Studio version. Detuned 1st and 4th strings – sounds the best and is true to the recorded song.
Version 2 – Easy version. Standard tuning with capo on the 4th fret and easy chord shapes. Suited for beginners.
Enjoy! Like this #yellow video by #coldplay and subscribe to the channel for more videos in the future!
